Collection consists of 13 b/w photgraphs of building the Alaska Highway, a letter from the Department of the Army, Alaska District, Corps of Engineers. Typewritten labels provided on back of photographs.

FNPL2014.001.003 Control station on Alcan - This control station on the pioneer Alcan Highway was used by the 341st Engineer Regiment for trucking operations between Dawson Creek, BC and Fairbanks. The photo was taken during the spring of 1943 and shows the contrast between the pioneer Alcan and the present-day highway.

Immediate Source of Acquisition Note:
FNPL2014.001.001-016; Northwest Collection - North West Collection this collection came from Dawson Creek Library Services Branch when LSB was closed. It belongs to the NELF libraries but is housed in FNPL.
Ownership and Custodial History:
May of 1967 the USA Department of Army released this fond to the Peace River Block News. They were then put in the North West Collection which is a protected collection that is owned by the North East Library Federation and housed in the Fort Nelson Public Library.
