Men speak up ending violence together

Summary: Have you ever known a woman who was impacted by violence? Chances are you have, as close to 50% of women in Canada have experienced some form of violence. The World Health Organization has named violence against women as the number one issue affecting women's health across the globe. Did you know that police receive thousands of calls from women each year who are trying to escape violence? Thousands more don't reach out as they don't feel safe or don't know there is help available to them. For decades now, women have been working to educate the public on the issue of violence against women. Men however, have been left out. We know that the vast majority of men do not use violence and care deeply about the well being of their mothers, their sisters, spouses, children and friends. This film is about creating opportunities for men to become part of the solution. Fifteen male leaders from various sectors and various communities across BC share their perspectives with the hope of inspiring other men to live violence free and become part of the solution.
